Wagga Wagga Wanderings

Hey Cheeky,
Today we went across to Wagga. Or rather, Wagga Wagga. Apparently it's important to say it twice because that's the official name and so on, but whatever. We went there for a few errands and I ended up buying some loot.

I'm not even going to ask if you want to see.

First though, I picked some roses yesterday and took pictures of them today, because they are just too darn pretty. I often think that pink roses look like they're made of porcelain.
In Wagga I was more interested in taking photos of the patterns and textures at first. I'm not sure why. I drove, and so I couldn't take any pictures of the trip, but there are some from a recent visit we took. While we were on the drive there was a whole herd of cattle that were being moved down the road (the Long Paddock, as it's called!) and it was so cool to drive past them. We had to go slowly, of course, because you do NOT want to drive into a cow, or make them panic.

I wanted to put the one with the cows in front of the Welcome to Wagga sign on Instagram, but changed my mind. I wasn't sure if it was really want the Wagga Tourist information bureau might want.

But back to today's trip. Yesterday was the Wagga Horse Race or something, and there had been this big display in one of the shopping centres with all these hat makers selling their wares. That was packed up, but they had this display horse still there, and it was too cool not to photograph. I guess every horse needs a giant floral saddle?

We had lunch, toasted sandwiches (I had salami, tomato, cheese and roasted capsicum on seed bread - delicious), cups of tea and little mint chocolates. I didn't photograph the food but I did take a picture of the table. I like the pattern. Also, there is this big wooden tree-like thing with lights hanging off it right near where we were sitting and I always think it deserves a picture.

After we'd had lunch we went to the reject shop and I was very proud of myself for not buying any craft supplies. One way to save money when at the shops? Shop with your mother. I was worried she'd be less than impressed if I bought more paper or stamps. I was tempted, but I managed to resist.
Shocking, I know!
I did take photos though, so I can pine after things and wish I had them.

I did end up getting some new drawers though, little drawers for the craft room. Two sets with 5 drawers each. I'll be able to put paints and things in them. I need more of these things, so these will be useful. One day I will actually have my craft supplies sorted out.

Of course I may have died of old age but meh. I'll come back as a ghost and finish it!

After Reject Shop we went and bought an ice cream (Rum and Raisin. My fav!) and headed to Lincraft and Aldi. At Lincraft I bought another ball of wool to finish knitting a shawl, and I also picked up a couple of knitting books that were on sale. I've already picked a few patterns I want to make from one of the books. I love knitting gloves.

When we went to Aldi they didn't have the craft stuff I wanted, but that's because they're not meant to be on sale until Wednesday. D'oh! I might have to see if Wimmy is anywhere near an Aldi and he might be able to get stuff for me. I saw the planner that you showed me on the video the other day, and I discussed with Dad how much I would love it, but then decided that I could resist. Again - shopping with mum puts a dampener on how much I spend. I had to go into Lincraft to get the wool (I'd been in to look at it, decided I might not bother, and then went back and got it anyway) and when I got back to the car I found that Mum and Dad had bought me the planner anyway! There was this long and involved story about having some money left over from something else they bought, but I don't care either way. I have it and it's lovely.

We went to Bunnings, I didn't get anything but I did look at the lovely flowers. My favourites - Marigolds - were in bloom, but we didn't get any. Oh well. One day. I do love them so very much but I'm one of the few people that actually like the smell of them.

Before we went home we stopped at Maccas for a cuppa and I had a strawberry donut. One of the few times I like pink things.

I think that was about it. It was a productive day because we did the various things we'd gone across to do, but I didn't buy all that many things. Still, that's probably a good thing.Soon I'll do a post on the various cards I've been making, so you can have that to look forward to.
Lucky you!
Take care.
*hugs*

P.S. - Before I go, here are a few more random photos I took. Just colours and stuff. This is what happens when I try to be creative and artsy. Hmmm.

  1. I guess pink roses do have a softer look!

I also miss Wagga Wagga, yes say it twice! It's probably when the place was called people didn't hear it and the guy who named it went "WAGGAAAA WAAAGAAA!" just be glad he didn't decide to say it a third time!
Honestly, post the photo it is cool! I mean Scotland is proud of it's cows, Wagga should be too!

Also as cool as that rose on the horse is, that horse is creepy!

And yeah, that is the reason I do not buy anything when shopping with my parents! I can't handle the "you already have it" talk.

Oh and very cool books! I wonder if any of the patterns are double in some of your books! No, really! One day you should look that up!

And aaawww!! So cool! What your parents did! And go Aldi Aus! The one here sucks... I don't know if it is because they don't bring out the tiny amount of craft stuff to the shops I visit or it is sold out as soon as it is in the stores!? Anyway, love the stuff! Will you go back on Wednesday?

Your donut has no hole... And donuts annoy me, they're like the candy apples! They look great, but end up being not satisfying!

Very cool photos! Tell me you got some of the paint cards!

I am off to sleep! Night night! Sorry it took me a whole day to reply!
