Random post because of a heat stroke!

Hey Dear,

I am trying my hardest not to just sit down and start crying. On Monday after work I ended walking around a bit, because we had such nice weather. There were ducklings all over the place and I just didn’t feel like going home just yet…

I should have gone home. I ended up with a heat stroke. Monday night I was feeling crappy, but thought it was just the work and exhaustion. Tuesday when I got up I fell apart. I threw up, I went to sleep again till I had to go to uni. (The whole internship explanation, the curriculum of my study has changed so I asked if I could join for those lectures). Eating or drinking anything felt like torture. Thank god Paracetamol and bitter lemon drink exists. The bitter lemon was the only thing I could drink that did not make me nauseous again… And the paracetamol made me keep my head up!
Anyhow, lecture went well, I know I won’t be working with Youth… I went to the library to pick up a book, went in to Primark to get some t-shirts to wear at work. Got home and collapsed.

Today I went to work, basically because I did not want to stay home and be sick. I managed to work, but home I had to rest and lie down. I slept again… Which helped, but right now I just feel miserable and I am so done with this heat stroke. I can’t cope with not functioning after doing okay for some time…

So for this blog I decided I just am going to show random pictures of the month may till now… It can be that I sent some through Whatsapp (I am posting the ones in my gallery), but you’ll have to see them again. It’s only May 9th  and I have 290 photos. (I had to take a bunch to show my sister stuff…)

Enjoy, have a good day and please tell me if there is a way I can get rid of this heat stroke faster!

This one is a bag I saw in TKMaxx in The Hague!

I went to the library at the start of the month to pick up a book about research in social work. The Central Library in The Hague, you know the big white building...
They have exhibitions a lot, this time it was about the the second world war, (4th May Remembrance day and 5th may Independence day). Looking at these things make me sad, also this time I was going "look at the materials you can use for crafting. Although I wouldn't have used these, would be too freaked out..

The library also has the Tourist Information Center on the first floor in the library. They always have amazing things... I didn't get them, but I am always tempted. Vermeer, Mondriaan en Escher postcards! (Escher being one of my faves. Vermeer being another Delftenaar!)

Loads of random Marvel and Star Wars photos, because I am shopping for my sister... Her hubby started working in a book store that just opened up in Izmir (Turkey)!

Things I got ready to make a page in my journal. Some washi sheets and museum flyers.

Gorgeous weather in Delft, the Old Church (picture is not wonky, the church leans to the left... bad foundation!) It's the church the Royal Dutch Family is burried/ entombed in!

Also this duck in one of the Delft Blue stores! How cool is this!?

Okay, took a picture of this cover because the tiger is adorable. It was at Dille en Kamille, love this shop!

Took more photos of cake!

One of the many random Action photos! I took this to show you, but of course you knew about the existence of this yarn! Anyway, the week it was on the weekly discount!

I think this was in a store near Noordeinde in The hague! A store filled with gorgeous (and expensive) plates!

Oh and the flags were up too, since before Kingsday (27th April) and I think they're gone now, but they would have still been there for the 4th and 5th of May!

New bebes!

One of the quotes in the paper pack I got!

I cut my hair. I know I said I liked it long, but I sort of went "bleeeh I need a change!"

Random photos of a walk!

Pretty Swan!

Can you read what's on the building?

DOK, the amazing cook ware store has some amazing things!

Random Rice photos... but not random! You know how I kept on going about Megan having 2 minutes rice she put in the micro wave? Which just made me go "WTF WHY?" Well, I saw them at the Albert Heijn... I had the same reaction. How lazy have we become?

Yep, new book :)

See this Heron? He was eating a frog! This might have cause the heat stroke!

The ducklings, this made me realize it is May (In mei leggen alle vogels een ei, a little Dutch verse: In may all the birds lay an egg)!

At uni, being informed about water...

Random Primark photos:

My first mail I posted this month! To Nina in the UK!

Oh and I got these cleaning tools for mum. They're called a doodle bug! It's for cleaning the shower. Hopefully these will make it easier to clean up the freaking shower...

My snack of tonight, I can't drink water much, it makes me feel naseous, so instead I went for capsicums and cucumbers! Yes, my brother still does this too!

Also went for a walk with mum, since it was not hot anymore and I needed to move around.

That's all! Hope you enjoyed it! Again any kind of advise on getting rid of a heat stroke is welcome!
Night night! And till Saturday!

  1. Hey sweetie,
Heat stroke sucks. But then again, anything that makes you feel nauseous is horrific and should be banned.
I love your photos but I can't read what's on the building. What does it say?
Not sure what you can do about heat stroke. Just take care of yourself and try not to overheat I guess. You have heat stroke and we just turned on the heater for the first time this year. sheesh!

    1. yes... having a great time! To be fair after this heat stroke I want rains, I do enjoy and like the longer brighter days! I just can't cope with humidity! Ugh!

Reasons to love fall: Everything is going to rest mode... If this makes sense. Summer and this country is just bleh!

The building has a piece of Emily Dickinson on it:

      Yesterday is History,
      'Tis so far away—
      Yesterday is Poetry—
      'Tis Philosophy—

      Yesterday is mystery—
      Where it is Today
      While we shrewdly speculate
      Flutter both away
